1. Government sets a destination for the country; it must have the aptitude to bring us, true, to terminus.
2. Conditions in other countries influence our own. For example:
(i). conflicts and ill-managed countries in one part of the world:
(a). flood other parts with people, destabilising and weakening their places of destination and departure, or
(b). they cause shortages or inefficiencies, when activities occur in places that are not their natural area of production.
(ii). conflicts, disturbances and ill-management in one part of the world make life and work - the process of producing a good or service - more expensive elsewhere,
(iii). problems in one part of the world bring hate and violence to us, where we live - terrorism, community tensions, etc.
3. We do need rules and standards in this world that all countries must follow. And we have them.
(i). Those rules and standards must be expressed by example rather than by precept. It often seems easier to break them. Who do we expect to observe these rules, and why, if we would not follow them ourselves?
4. This is not a political undertaking: this page is necessary because I thought I should explain why I made overtures to other governments and why they ought to have acted.
(i). It is also true there were signs important institutions were threatened, in the countries I approached: they had a clear and immediate interest in acting. I have tried to explain this in the National Interest Map.
5. If it is said this sounds too much like globalism, and that is a bad thing, I repeat: this is not a political project. But:
(i). I would first point out these words mean different things to different people: I should first like to understand what that word means to you.
(ii). I should then ask if, for example, the idea of things being produced in the most sensible place is a bad idea, especially if it solves many of our problems: high cost of living, illegal and unsustainable migration, etc. and would not cause us to live in a way inconsistent with our values and standards.
6. The blue bar at the top of this page will take you to a list of governments we have approached.
