The Liberal Democrats
1. Since 2017, I have reported the matters treated on this website to the leaders of the Liberal
Democrats and their spokespersons for Health, Justice and Home Affairs. I supported such statements as I made
with evidence: much of it incontestable, all of it cogent, and I invited them to indicate logical flaws or
unpersuasive evidence. I received no response.
(i). A list of the Liberal Democrat spokespersons to whom I wrote can be found here.
2. My constituency used to be an important Liberal Democrat parliamentary seat. They lost it in 2017 and have
been unable to retrieve it.
3. Had they challenged the conduct of my MP,
the Liberal Democrats would easily have retrieved that seat. I reported the matters treated on this website to the
local Liberal Democrat office and provided supporting evidence.
4. They were reluctant to act on the matter. In March, 2024, I arranged a meeting with them, I had leave,
which was later withdrawn unreasonably. I suggested I make
an audio recording of the meeting, in order to create an objective record. They refused.
(i). They refused to act on these matters or to bring them to the attention of Liberal Democrat candidates
and their national leaders,
(ii). they could not explain their refusal to act and
(iii). they even supported the Labour MP and argued she had done all she could.
5. The Liberal Democrats did not deny (indeed, no political party has denied) that the reports I made
were valid. I invited them - as I have the other parties - to point out logical or other flaws in the facts I
presented and to have the statements I made fact-checked.
6. The Liberal Democrats failed to retrieve that Seat from Labour.
7. When the General Election was announced, I reported these matters to the Chairs of
sixty-four Liberal Democrat party offices around the country.
I informed them that not to inform the public of such matters during the Campaign would probably render the Elections
undemocratic. They neither denied
the validity of the reports nor rebutted my view on the effect on democracy but, to my knowledge, they did not act
on those reports.
8. The Liberal Democrats won sixty-five seats in the General Election of 2024. If advancing the national good
is the overriding motivation, the Liberal Democrats were obliged to inform the public of those facts. But it is
difficult to imagine they failed to understand that to divulge these facts would have given them a great advantage
in those elections - they would probably have been entrusted with more seats.
Ms Joanne Swinson
9. While Ms Swinson led the Liberal Democrats, I reported these matters to her. She returned no response.
Sir Edward Davey
10. I first reported these matters to Sir Edward in 2020 and continued to return them to his attention. When the General Election was announced, in 2025, I warned him: not having denied the validity of the reports and given their gravity, not to inform the public of these matters during the campaign would probably render the elections undemocratic. He did not reply and he does not appear to have heeded my warning.
